Genesis 3:8-9
Where are you? Why are you hiding?
The man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God walking
in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among
the trees of the garden. But Yahweh God called to the man. 'Where are
You?" he asked. 'I heard the sound of you in the garden,' he replied.
'I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.' 'Who told you that you were
naked?' The man replied, 'It was the woman you put with me; she gave me
some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.' Then Yahweh God said to the
woman,' Why did you do that?' The woman replied, 'The snake tempted me and
I ate.'
Focus of First Half of Spiritual Journey
Where are you? This is one of the great questions of all
time. It is the focus of the first half of the spiritual journey…In
Genesis 3 it is the question God asked when Adam and Eve had taken off for
the underbrush after their disobedience…This marvelous story of creation
is not just about Adam and Eve. It is really about us. It is a revelation
of where we are. The same question is addressed to every generation, time
and person. At every moment of our lives, God is asking us, "Where
are you?" Why are you hiding?"
Pray Psalm 119:10. With my whole heart I will seek you…
