Quiet the mind
Be still
And watch the breath of God
Rise and fall
In all things.
Allow God’s breath
To be your breath;
Allow God’s nature
To be your nature.
The nature of God
Is to love and be loved;
Your desire to love creates intention,
Intention focuses attention,
Attention illuminates understanding,
Understanding manifests forgiveness,
Forgiveness is the fountainhead
of Love.
Intend to be Love
And know death for what it is:
The inbreath of God.

While Centering prayer (Christian
meditation) is done privately most of the time, the weekly
gatherings as a group are a time of
sharing and supporting one another. It is a
means of accountability, an enormous encouragement to “keep
going.”
Many centering prayer groups follow
the format of two periods of Centering Prayer with a short
meditation walk in between and one period for the practice of
Lectio Divina in the ancient
monastic tradition.
The prayer group is also a means of continuing education.
Many view videos or review books by Thomas Keating and other
contemporary spiritual leaders. The Spiritual Journey video
series by Thomas Keating is an important guide for all on the
Christian contemplative spiritual journey The groups listed
below are open to any person currently practicing centering prayer
as well as anyone who is interested in or new to
this form of prayer. All faith traditions and beliefs are welcome.
“We wait patiently; in silence, openness, and quiet expectancy;
motionless within and without. We surrender to the attraction to
be still, to be loved, just to be.” Thomas Keating
Contact the group
facilitator or Sandy for further information about the prayer groups
listed in the tables below,
