“Behold Your Life”, Macrina Wiederkehr, pg. 88

EPHESIANS

The New life in Christ, 5:1-14

‘As God’s dear children, then, take him as your pattern, and follow Christ by loving as he loved you, giving himself up for us as an offering and a sweet smelling sacrifice to God. Among you there must be not even a mention of sexual vice or impurity in any of its forms, or greed: this would scarcely become the holy people of God! There must be no foul or salacious talk or coarse jokes- all this is wrong for you; there should be rather thanksgiving. For you can be quite certain that nobody who indulges in sexual immorality or impurity or greed-which is worshipping a false god can inherit the kingdom of God. Do not let anyone deceive you with empty arguments: it is such behavior that draws down God’s retribution on those who rebel against him. Make sure that you do not throw in your lot with them. You were darkness once, but now you are light in the Lord; behave as children of light, for the effects of the light are seen in complete goodness and uprightness and truth. Try to discover what the Lord wants of you, take no part in the futile works of darkness but, on the contrary show them up for what they are. The things which are done in secret are shameful even to speak of; but anything shown up by the light will be illuminated and anything illuminated is itself a light. That is why it is said,

“Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”'

For the next two days, we will be reflecting on the memory of addictions in your life, present or past, your own and those of others. Let this be an open and loving evaluation. You are on this journey because you want to be your best self. You want to heal. You long to become as whole s is possible on this path of life. With love, cradle your memories and give them a home.

“Be vigilant about the kind of life you lead, you are to be wise not foolish. This age may appear to be lost, but your lives should redeem it.”

“Discovering the KINGDOM Within You”, pg. 41

Listen, My Beloved,

When your heart longs for peace, turn to Me. Even in the chaos of everyday life, I am there as the calmness.
Turn to Me. I am your center.
You will find me in your hour of need and in your times of joy.
I am in the tears and in the laughter.
I am your safe harbor, the lighthouse that guides you to safety when the sea of life is in turmoil.
I am in your hopes and dreams.
I am the good desires of your heart.
I am your faith to believe, your spirit of adventure on each new journey.
I am your strength to begin again.
In every discovery you make, know that you are not alone.

Beloved, I am with you.
